Lorraine J. Gussert, 91, passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 6, 2022. She was born in Amherst, WI on April 18 th , 1931 to the late Frank and Jennie (Shulfer) Okray. Lorraine married the love of her life, Vernon (Gus) Gussert on April 24, 1954.
The mother of seven Lorraine was involved in never ending school and social activities and an active member of St Bernard and Resurrection parishes. Lorraine also worked for Kellogg-Citizens National Bank before owning and operating Olson Sales with Gus to retirement.
In retirement Lorraine and Gus enjoyed traveling with friends including, casino weekends and "resting" at the cottage. Always wanting to be on the go Lorraine could never pass up a lunch date or spending the afternoon with friends shopping at her "boutiques".
Survivors include her children, David (Susan Pinsonnault) Gussert, Lynn Engels and Christian Smith, James (Karen) Gussert, Catherine (Paul) Leicht, Jeanne (Gary) Van Vreede, Daniel Gussert and Tricia Karl, and Mary (John) Vanden Avond, grandchildren Michael Gussert and Michael Pijoan, Amelia Gussert, Kyle Engels, Jacqui Engels, Justin Leicht and Stephanie Goethe, Erin (Brett) Mommaerts, Ryan Leicht, Nicole Lubinski, Lucas (Danielle) Lubinski, Andrew (Kira) Gussert, Alaina Gussert, Weston Gussert, Jessica (Dylan) Leonard, Lauren (Mitch) Michaels, great granddaughters McKenzie Gussert, and Josephine Leicht.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Vernon (Gus) Gussert; her parents, Frank and Jennie (Shulfer) Okray; brothers, Norbert (Betty) Okray and Walter (Millie) Okray; grandchildren Jennifer and Eric Leicht; parents-in-law, Clarence and Stella (Siedl) Gussert; and sister-in-law Beverly Smits.
Visitation will be held at Resurrection Church from 9:00am to 10:30am Saturday June 18 th , 2022; followed by a funeral service at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) Research Foundation in honor of Lorraine.
