Lyle F. Warner, 87, Suamico, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 after enjoying a long and celebrated life. He was born June 17, 1930 in Green Bay, WI, the son of the late Frank and Gladys (Pinchard) Warner.
Lyle attended Green Bay West High School and graduated in 1947. In his young adult years, Lyle played fast pitch softball as a third basemen. He enjoyed watching all types of sports, especially his beloved Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage and telling stories. Lyle was also an avid bowler and spent many years chasing that perfect 300. He was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge 801.
Lyle honorably served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1949 to 1951. During this time he was able to travel and see many foreign lands.
Lyle vowed to protect and serve his community as a firefighter for the Green Bay Fire Department for 32 years. Following a respected and prestigious career, he retired as Deputy Chief on December 31, 1991.
Lyle was a genuine and caring man towards his family. Survivors include his special friend, Gloria Holger; children, Terri Hilbert, Craig Warner (Martha), Quinn Warner (friend Tami), Mitchell Warner (Laura), Scott Warner (Sheri); son-in-law, Rick Hilbert; the mother of his children, Lou Warner; grandchildren, Sarah McFall (Eric), Jim Hilbert (Brooke), Rebekah Konkel, Zachary Hilbert (Jessica), Kaylee, Alyssa, Brett, Brennan Warner; Quinn, Morgan Warner; five great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Delforge; many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlene; brother-in-law, Roland Delforge.
Family and friends may call at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S Madison St., Green Bay, on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Funeral Service 11:30 a.m. at the church with Pastor Julie Wrubbel-Lange officiating.
