Obituary

Marcella M. Calewarts, 92, Howard, passed away into eternal life on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Cardinal Ridge Assisted Living Home with her family at her side. She was born March 2, 1924 to the late Hiram and Mary (Ver Voren) Hussin in Green Bay.

She married Donald Calewarts in Howard in 1941. Donald preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1988. Besides being a homemaker, she worked at Calewarts Meats and Shopko Stores in the past.

Marcella and Donald enjoyed many summers at their mobile home on Pelican Lake with Donald's family. They were avid bowlers and bowled in many couples leagues over the years. Card playing was another one of their enjoyments.

She is survived by one sister, Sally (Ron) Treml, Howard and their family: Tyle, Jessica, Chase and Levi Treml, Madison. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Richard Ashley. She is further survived by a special niece, Connie (Pat) Polasik and their family: Shanie, T.j, Berkeley and Brystal Williams and Erin, Andy, Presley and Brooks Aschenbrenner.

Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth and a daughter and son-in-law, Diane (Ron) Abel. Marcella is also preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law: Ione (Bill Delvoye; John Bukoski) and Rose Mary Ashley. She is further preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law in the Calewarts family and a special companion, Frank Lardinois.

Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2561 Glendale Ave., Howard on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 from 10 until 12:00 noon. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 noon at the church with Father Scott Valentyn officiating. Online condolences welcome at PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
