Obituary

Marilyn Jean Greisinger was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, daughter of Glen & Molly Hostettler. She worked in her parents' restaurant, Happy's Café, while attending Antigo High School. Jeanne, as everyone called her, as she did not like the name Marilyn! Jeanne met Jim in homeroom in 1955, and Jim & Jeanne have been together since. Love at first sight! Following graduation from High School, Jeanne attended beauty school in Milwaukee to become a hair stylist.

Jeanne & Jim married in 1959, while Jim was in the Air Force, stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Her first child, Bob, was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, followed by a daughter, Gina. They lived in a little house; I mean little, on St. Ann's Street. They relocated to Green Bay in 1962 where her daughter Gail and son Tony were born. Jeanne was a wonderful "Mom." She lived for and loved her family. Jeanne was blessed with two grandsons Taylor & Connor and a granddaughter, Molly. Jeanne was a terrific homemaker, Mom, and Grandmother. She was loved so much by her family and will be sincerely missed by her family and especially her husband, Jim, after 63 years of marriage. His best friend.

Jeanne worked at the Hallmark store in the Green Bay Plaza for several years. She loved all the Hallmark cards. Some say she read every one as she filled the shelves with cards. She absolutely loved Christmas! She would spend hours shopping for gifts and decorating for days in preparation. Her shopping expeditions with family were a highlight of the holiday season, a fun day shopping until the stores closed. For Jeanne, holiday shopping started in earnest the weekend Jim went deer hunting. Decorating for Christmas took days. The giant Christmas tree stayed up until Valentine Day, or later! Followed by decorating for Easter with bunnies large and small decorating the house. Crossword puzzles and her Yahtzee game gave her pleasure.

Thursdays! A special day of the week. Reserved for an appointment at the beauty shop, to have her hair done, and lots of laughs and stories, followed by a night out with the girls. A night out with the girls means bowling at Devroy's, followed by pizza and more stories, laughs and great times with friends.

Jeanne loved movies. It started at a young age. Her parent's restaurant was next to a local movie theater in Antigo where she discovered her love for movies. When Jim was traveling on business, Jeanne attended not one, but two movies an evening!

So many wonderful times at the cottage on the pontoon boat, or to the condominium in Florida. She did not like to ride snowmobiles, but loved the snowmobile trips with friends, and had many fond memories of the great times with the group of friends on snowmobile weekends to Northern Wisconsin. She loved to travel, and especially enjoyed trips to Geneva, Switzerland, Ireland, and so many special places.

Her laugh was contagious, and she loved having friends at her beautiful house. She had a love for music, dance, and laughter. She encouraged Jim to be a "chair donor" to the Weidner Center and rarely missed a performance. Her favorite was Willie Nelson, but lots of great performers, times and special evenings at the Weidner.

Jim & Jeanne were members at Oneida Golf & Riding Club for many years, and she especially enjoyed hosting an annual holiday party for friends and family.

Jeanne was a generous person always willing to help someone or support so many organizations. The Giving Tree, St. Vincent's Children's Hospital, and Heritage Hill. She created a special place at Heritage Hill, Caden's Hill, in memory of her deceased great-grandson.

Jeanne was a kind person, who saw the good in others, and had a wonderful gift to make others smile, and feel good about themselves. She was a special person, married to Jim for 63 years. They had a special relationship. Her encouraging words, lifted the spirit of so many, and her love for others was constant.

If Jeanne could speak to you today, she would tell you to achieve success; you must live well, laugh often, and love much. He who leaves the world a better place, always looks for the good in others and give the best you have.

Survived by, husband Jim, son Bob (Gina), Tony, daughter Gail (Todd) Peters, Gina. Grandchildren, Taylor (Maegan), Connor, Molly (Shane) Dillon.

Preceded in death by her parents Glen & Molly Hostettler, and great-grandchild Caden.
