Mary Jo
Pfotenhauer
Mar 15, 1960 — Jun 1, 2024
Mary Jo Pfotenhauer, 64, passed away on June 1, 2024. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion and smile.
Mary Jo was born to the late Martha Rattskoff and Richard Mellen. She was a graduate of Bay Port High School, class of 1978. In 1980, Mary Jo married Robert Pfotenhauer at St. John the Baptist Church in Green Bay, WI.
Mary Jo led a life filled with love and compassion. She was known for her love of gardening, camping, her grandkids, baking, butterflies, playing cards, her dogs and listening to Elvis. She worked many years as a crossing guard and loved helping and hearing the daily stories from the children. As a child, she enjoyed spending time and water skiing at her family's lake house on Kelly Lake and as an adult, she enjoyed spending time at her parent's cottage in Pembine, WI. She was an artist who took pleasure and pride in creating hand-painted Name Portraits and flower arrangements for family and friends. Whether pursuing giving to others, spending time in her garden, or baking mounds of cookies and treats, Mary Jo approached every endeavor with a big heart.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband Robert Pfotenhauer, children: Aubrey (Steven) Winters, Adam (Kimberly) Pfotenhauer, four grandchildren Spencer and Archer Winters, Alaina and Ava Pfotenhauer, dog Josie, brothers: Michael (Kathy) Mellen, Richard (Cheryl) Mellen, Thomas Mellen, Patrick Mellen and sister Cindy Mellen, mother-in-law Geraldine Pfotenhauer, brother-in-laws: Michael Pfotenhauer, Andrew (Laurie) Pfotenhauer, sister-in-laws: Sally (Debbie Kupka) Pfotenhauer, Jennifer Pfotenhauer, Barbara (George) Buntin, godchildren Melinda Rose and Jillian Sidon, and many loving extended family members and friends.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Sidney Rattskoff and her father-in-law Harold Pfotenhauer.
May Mary Jo's soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring comfort and solace to all who mourn her passing. Rest in peace, dear Mary Jo - wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
