Obituary

Michael Cygan, 63, Dyckesville, WI, died unexpectedly, but peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. Mike was diagnosed with liver cancer and liver disease in February. After finally going down to Froedtert Hospital, they kicked the cancer but were unable to get a donor liver in time. He was born on Jan. 26, 1952 to the late Harrison and Marguerite (Zeise) Cygan. Mike graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1970 and enjoyed playing football or playing drums in his band "The Journeymen". After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Lewis, WA and was honorably discharged. When he returned to Green Bay, he became a cadet for the Green Bay Police Department. Mike then moved up to officer where he enjoyed being a motorcycle cop for many years. He then became a Sergeant and retired as a Lieutenant after 30 years of service on the force. He considered his years as a police officer the best job on this earth. During his years as police officer and many years after his retirement, Mike worked for the Green Bay Packers in security for a total of 20 years. After that, Mike worked for Martin Security for many years. He married Nancy Rice. Mike was an active member of the American Legion and Lions Club.

Mike was a very energetic man with a charm loved by all. He always was ready with a story or two all true of course. Mike loved living life to its fullest either hanging with the family and neighbors or riding his Harley, traveling or putsing in his yard on the bay.

Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy; faithful dog, Bear; sister, Diane (Ed) Terrance; brother, Jim (Mitsie) Cygan; sons, Michael (Amanda) and Patrick Cygan; stepchildren, Chris Halbrook (Devon) and Kara (Donald) Halbrook; grandchildren, Harry, Ethan, Zoe, Chloe, Joey, Jacob, Logan, Dylan and Lucy; brother-in-law, Steve (Sue) Rice; sisters-in-law, Laure (Mike) Rice and Beckey (Jonathan) May.
