Obituary

Michael Donald Dallas, 76, of Green Bay, WI, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Alpha Senior Concepts.

Michael was born in Marquette, MI, on May 7 th , 1945, to the late Donald J. & Violet Dallas. The second child of five, Michael grew up loving all his siblings including brother Dennis, Gary, Danny and sister Donna.

Growing up, Michael loved to play sports, including basketball and hockey. He was a natural athlete, having tried every sport but football. During his high school years at Bishop Baraga in Marquette, he played basketball and was a very popular classmate.

Michael graduated from Bishop Baraga and went on to study at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. During the summers, he enjoyed working odd jobs like construction and working at the Detroit Motors factory.  During college, he joined the Fraternity and met good lifelong friends such as Mike Manning, Bob Lacosse, and Dan Crowley.  Most importantly he met the love of his life, Helen Jean Guzowski. He graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in business.

Michael found his future calling in teaching and moved down to Green Bay Wi, with Helen Jean in 1969. He found teaching opportunities at Green Bay Preble High, where he taught high school business courses for 31 years and also coached tennis. He was such a successful coach that he brought his tennis teams to the regional championships a few times. Go Hornets! He loved teaching so much that he earned his master's degree in teaching at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.

In 1982, Mike and Helen welcomed their son Tom into this world and have enjoyed spending lots of time together as a family over the years. Vacationing during the summers at places like Mall of America in Minnesota, Walt Disney World in Florida, Six Flags in Chicago, and even Mackinac Island in lower Michigan. Most importantly, yearly visits back up to Marquette and Iron River Michigan to visit beloved family.  When Tom aged into his high school years, Mike loved played tennis and coaching Tom to help him to make the high school team.

In 2000, Mike decided to retire from teaching, ending a successful career of helping to reach many young minds. When one door closes, another opens...So with that in mind, he found an opportunity to re-join the family business. Mike was very proud to have worked along-side his family in the new business venture, learning to be a Human Resources Manager among many other roles.
