Michael J.
Phelps
Apr 22, 1968 — May 2, 2023
On May 2, 2023, Michael J. Phelps completed his journey here with us. Despite many years of struggles and difficulties to overcome, he relished in the fact that the journey was the reward. His legacy persists in all of the lives that he made a positive impact on.
Michael was born on April 22, 1968, at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee to Michael R. and Maureen Phelps. He was a kind hearted soul that would do anything to help people and was known for his sense of humor. He was passionate about music and loved helping his friends in Panic Station with all their performances. He cherished nature, spending time hunting with his dad in Amberg, participating in professional walleye fishing tournaments, and collecting rocks. Most of all he loved his family and his significant other of 4 years, Yvonne, and their dog Harley who was by his side in his final days.
Michael is survived by his significant other Yvonne Reindl, his mother Maureen Phelps, ex-wife Becky Porter; son Alexander Phelps; daughter, Lauren (Ivan) Ramirez; sister Kelly (Doug) Braunreiter; sister Tracy (Tim) Bonin; nieces and nephews, Angela, Anthony, Crista, Andrew, Sydney, Ashley and Joshua; plus many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael R. Phelps; paternal grandparents, Milo and Mary Phelps; and maternal grandparents, Woodrow and Margaret Mitchell.
