Michael D.
Williquette
Apr 11, 1948 — Jan 19, 2023
Michael David Williquette passed away January 19, 2023 after battling a long illness.
Mike was born April 11, 1948 to Nick and Virgie Williquette. Mike attended St. John the Baptist school in Howard in his elementary years and graduated from Bay Port High School. After graduation, Mike joined the United States Army and was stationed in Korea.
After concluding his time in the Army, most of Mike's career was dedicated to working at Diana Manufacturing. After Diana Manufacturing closed its doors, Mike ventured down a new path and took to operating Harbor Lights Bar in Suamico. Mike poured his time and energy into running Harbor Lights Bar until he retired.
Mike truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping as well as frequenting his "favorite spots" to spend time with friends and family. Mike was well known in the Howard and Suamico area as the "master booyah maker." He volunteered his booyah making talents in order to help a variety of charitable organizations and was happy to make booyah for family and for friends whenever asked to.
Mike is survived by his son Tom Williquette, brother-in-law Mike McAvoy, sister Faye Eastman, brother Pat Williquette (Sue), sister Jill Grunwald (Jim), and many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Nick and Virgie Williquette, sister Karen McAvoy, brother-in-law Jeff Eastman, sister-in-law Julie Williquette, and nephew Jason Smurawa.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, January 26, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Howard-Suamico, 1145 Cardinal Lane. A memorial service and military honors will immediately follow at 6:00 PM.
