Nancy L. Nelson, age 82, of Sobieski, WI, passed away on August 18, 2022, with her family at her side after a long battle with Dementia. Born August 2, 1940, in Green Bay, WI, to the late Clement and Josephine Duquaine. She graduated from East High School in Green Bay, WI, with the class of 1958.
Nancy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She had many talents and favorite pastimes; cooking, sewing, crafting, birdwatching and collecting angels were among her favorites.
Nancy is survived by her husband Edwin Nelson, Children: Wendy (Mark) Lambert, Dan (Ann)Nelson, Kathy (John) Bishop, Jeff Unsinn, Linda (Jeff) Kozelek, Daniel (Jody Liesch), Karen (Dan)Wenzel. 19 grandchildren: Eric (Terra) Joppe, Seth Joppe (Anna Dietzen), Casey Lambert, Karissa Lambert, Natashia (Wallo) Atkinson, David (Kirstin) Nelson, Lisa (Omid) Sadeghi, Brandon (Kayla) Parrish, Sara (David) Steshetz, Shelly (Lawrence) Williams, Aaron Bishop (Lex Domino), Chelsea Bishop (Wesley Webster), John Unsinn, Jessica Unsinn, Megan (Benjamin) Dickson, Jacob (Emily) Kozelek, Heather Goldman, Cole Unsinn (Kaitlyn Peollot), Aubree Wenzel.
32 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Mary Lindquist (sister-in-law), and Jack Faccio (brother-in-law), many nieces, nephews and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by grandsons; Alex Hicks, Wade and Zachary Joppe. Great granddaughter Laila Williams, her parents, her siblings; Gordon (Alice), Robert (Colleen), James (LaVern), Norella (Alan) Voelz, Pearl (Harold) Brunner, Joyce (Lloyd) Reed, Shirley (Clyde) Pasterski and Betty Faccio. Ed's mother; Lorraine M Nelson, his brother Eugene Nelson and brother-in-law Jack Lindquist.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at New Perspectives Senior Living, with much appreciation to the Betty's Harbor Memory Care staff and the staff at Unity Hospice.
A memorial visitation and service will be held on Thursday August 25, 2022, at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home Howard-Suamico, 1145 Cardinal Lane Green Bay. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, with service to follow at 7 pm.
