Obituary

Nancy Kathryn Puissant (Maes) passed away peacefully Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Grancare Gardens, a day after her 84th birthday. She was born on May 13, 1938, to the late Gordon and Phyllis Maes. Nancy was a lifelong resident of the Green Bay area. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1956, where she forged lifelong friendships.  Growing up, Nancy enjoyed summers spent with family and friends on Sunset Beach. She told many stories of her water skiing adventures to the lighthouse. On July 30, 1960, Nancy married James Puissant, who preceded her in death in 1988. Together they raised four children at their Howard home, where she lived until 2021. Nancy loved her home and for over 30 years after Jim's passing, she worked tirelessly to maintain her yard and pool where she enjoyed entertaining friends and family. On most summer weekends she could be found in her pool or on the golf cart with Patty and her grandkids. She was very excited to learn she would be a great-grandmother this fall. Nancy spent her working career as a secretary to Dr. Arthur Haines and later classifying medical records for Emergency Physicians, LTD until her retirement.

Nancy is survived by her four children, Jim (Pam) Puissant, Patty Puissant, Amy (Chad) Fulwiler and Jeff (Nola) Puissant. Three siblings, Richard Maes, Don (Nanci) Maes and Steve (Mary) Maes. Eight grandchildren, Nicole (John) Whitmore, Adam (Hannah) Fulwiler, James (Hannah) Puissant, Austin Fulwiler, Michael Puissant, Samantha Puissant, Alyson Fulwiler and Andrew Puissant.  Nieces and nephew; Lisa Maes, Holly Kallestad, Maggie Maes and Ethan Maes. She was predeceased by her husband, James Puissant, parents Gordon and Phyllis Maes, brother Kent Maes, and sister in-laws, Katie Maes and Bobbie Maes.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Grancare Gardens and to the nurses of Compassus Hospice, both provided special care to our mother.  In lieu of flowers, a tribute gift can be made to The CP Center in thanks for the service and care they continue to provide to her daughter Patty.
