Obituary

Nathalie "Nat" (Krieser) Bookter, 90, wants the world to know that she lived a full life.  It began on April 13, 1931 and continued until September 2, 2021 except for the many memories that live on.  This lifelong resident of Duck Creek (Howard) wants people to celebrate her life.  She and her husband Jim attended a one-room school through eighth grade before moving on to Green Bay West High School where she was a proud 1949 graduate.  Nat and Jim had six children and she did an incredible job raising those children after her husband died at a young age.  She held a variety of jobs including being elected treasurer in Howard, being Howard's last elected treasurer and then working for the Village until her retirement.  Some of her fondest memories growing up were hanging out with cousins and her "adopted" sisters, the Vollmar girls.  Family was the center of her life.

She is survived by children Charles (Karen), Robert (Teresa), Paul (Rebecca) and Amy (Daniel) Frey, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband James (1970), father Karl (1984), mother Viola (1996), son Todd (1998), daughter Barbara (2012) and grandson-in-law Erek (2018).

The care and compassion of Alpha Senior Concepts is greatly appreciated including being awakened when her Cubs finally won the World Series.  The care and compassion of Compassus led by Robin is also greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Brown County, in Nathalie's name.

Friends may gather at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home in Howard on Sunday, September 19, from 2-3:30 pm. A service will follow at 3:30 pm; officiated by Rev. Judah Ben-Hur S. Pigon MF. Online condolences are welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com .
