Obituary

Neil Raymond Anderson, 31, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 3rd, after living with cancer for 6-1/2 years.

Neil is survived by his loving wife, Mallory; three children, Aidan James, Lyla Faye, and Malia Mackenzie; grandmother, Dorothy Duke; parents, Teri and Paul; brothers, James (Natalie Haight) and Derek (Tasha Gjesdahl); sisters-in-law, Mackenzie (Matt) Falk, Emily Nickerson, Natalie Nickerson (Spencer Fuhriman), and Delaney Nickerson; father-in-law Michael Nickerson; mother-in-law Janelle Bailey (Greg Sporer); nieces and nephew Hattie, Audrey, Ewan, Winnie, and Elsie; and innumerable friends and extended family. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Patti Anderson; uncle, Ed Vrana; and grandparents, Dorie Schiesl, Bud Duke, and James Anderson.

Born on January 16, 1995, in Green Bay, Neil leaves behind a legacy that far exceeds what is expected of someone so young. As the youngest of three brothers, he developed a fierce competitive spirit and an ambition to carve his own path. Those qualities carried him through life as he broke records, made local headlines, built a successful career, and, above all, created a beautiful family that became the center of his world.

In his free time, Neil was a devoted fan of the Houston Texans and Phoenix Suns. He was an avid golfer with a booming drive, though he was never afraid to take a mulligan—or two. More than any hobby or pastime, Neil treasured the moments spent with the people he loved. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, quick wit, playful sense of humor, competitive nature, and his unwavering devotion to his family.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the physicians, nurses, medical staff, and neighbors who provided care and support throughout Neil’s journey.

In accordance with his wishes, Neil has donated his body to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Body Donor Program to help advance the education of health science students, residents-in-training, and practicing clinicians.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Neil's life on Saturday, August 8th, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Anderson family home, 1728 Ontario Rd., Green Bay, WI 54311.

In honor of Neil's memory, guests are encouraged to wear their Steel Neil shirt, their favorite sports apparel, or golf attire.
