De Pere – Norbert "Norb" Nigbur, 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. He was born on December 27, 1932, to the late Alfred and Jeanette (Szalewski) in Milwaukee, WI. Norb grew up in Milwaukee. His family moved to Hazelhurst and ran a resort on McCormick Lake. Norb joined the Army when he was 18 years old and went to the Korean War.

On May 11, 1957, Norbert married Judith Genzmer in Minocqua. Together, they had five children: Deborah, Terri, Rose, Andy, and Tommy. Norb worked for the Brown County Highway Department. They lived in Green Bay most of their married lives until retiring to St. Germain.

Norb is survived by his children, Deborah Nigbur (Texas), Terri Nigbur (St. Germain), Rose Nigbur (Janesville), Andy (Michele) Nigbur (Sobieski); 8 grandchildren, Chrissy, Vanessa, Veronica, Cindy, Jennifer, Kenny, Chelsea, and Mitchell; 9 great-grandchildren, and sister, Pat.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; son, Tommy, and two brothers, Richie and Harvey and brother-in-law Jerry.

Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., (one quarter mile east of the corner of Cardinal Ln. and Glendale Ave. Entrance directly across from BP gas station on Glendale.) on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors will follow at 11:00 with Father Raja Selvam officiating.
