Obituary

Patrick (Rick) McDonald, 63, of Sobieski, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2017 in Green Bay.

Rick was born in Tigerton on Dec. 27, 1953 to the late Wallace and Delilah (Vollmer) McDonald. He graduated from Bay Port High School in 1972, and then from Bellin School of Radiology in 1974. Through self-study, he became certified in nuclear medicine and began working at Bellin Nuclear Cardiology until 1988. At that point he started working at St. Vincent Hospital as team leader of Nuclear Medicine until retiring in 2015. He married Raylene Calkins on July 22 of 1988 in Suamico. He enjoyed riding Harleys with his wife on hot summer days, along with playing tennis, traveling with his family, and keeping his lawn pristine. Not only this, but he enjoyed exercising on his bike, keeping up with politics, and hunting in the fall time. One of his favorite places to visit was the family farm in Tigerton where he used to enjoy his summers as a child.

Rick is survived by his amazing wife Raylene McDonald; sons Michael (Christine) McDonald of Hobart, Bryan McDonald of Fond du Lac, Mark McDonald of San Diego, Matthew (Alycia) McDonald of San Diego, Bradley (Nataliya) McDonald of Milwaukee, and daughter Kristine (Andy) Boone of Cary, NC; brother Kevin (Linda) McDonald of Green Bay; sisters Cindy (Mike) Gillis of Suamico, Lori Peters of Pulaski, and Michelle (Todd) Cullen of Green Bay; grandchildren Caitlin, Allison, Isabella, Brynn, Emily, Brayden. He is further survived by friends and relatives.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dianne Schaefer.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 from 1 until 4:00 p.m. Memorial Service 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
