Richard Lawrence Buechler Sr, age 93 - a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather left this world peacefully on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was born on April 9th, 1928 to Lucile and Karl Buechler in Youngstown, Ohio.
In 1949, Richard (nicknamed Dick) started his military career in aviation and piloted with distinction the F4U Corsair in the Korean War for the US Marines. As a highly decorated combat pilot, he was awarded multiple commendations. "Once a Marine, always a Marine"
Richard is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Doris Buechler, his parents Lucile and Karl Buechler, and sister Babetta. He is survived by his three children, Rhonda (Cloud Condon), Richard Jr. (Kathy), and David (Stephanie). He was a proud "Pops" to seven grandchildren: Carrie, Kate (Dan Sterckx), David Jr. (Dawn), Alissa, Libby, Karl (Samantha), Matthew and was blessed with five great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Conner, Jeremiah, Lydia, and Roman.
Dick will be buried with full military honors. Services will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Wednesday, August 18th at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be sent to The Salvation Army. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
