Richard (Dick)
Neveau
Jul 21, 1927 — Sep 17, 2025
Richard "Dick" Neveau, 98, of Howard, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025.
Born on July 21, 1927, in Coleman, Wisconsin, Dick was the youngest of nine children. He was an avid athlete in high school, excelling in basketball, football, and track. After graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy before attending the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.
One of his earliest jobs took him to Beaver Dam, where he met the love of his life, Rita Wilson. They married on September 11, 1954, and together built a full and faith-filled life in Green Bay. Dick and Rita shared 54 years of marriage before her passing in 2008.
Dick is lovingly remembered by his children: Richard (June) Neveau, Roger (Laurie) Neveau, Renee (John) Dietz, Rock (Sandie) Neveau, and Rebecca (Jack, deceased) Main. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Ronald, in 1976.
He was a proud grandfather of 11: Richard Neveau, David Neveau, Nicole Preston, Kristin Chin, Carrie Hubert, Kevin Dietz, Tyler Neveau, Dylan Neveau, Max Neveau, Blake Main, and Turner Main. His legacy continues through 14 great-grandchildren: Hannah and Elizabeth Neveau; Samuel, Aaron, Violet, and Lily Chin; Ellis, Delilah, and Margo Hubert; Henry and Ellie Neveau; London, August, and Alexandra Main.
Faith and service were at the center of Dick's life. He and Rita were active members of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, volunteering as reading mentors at a local elementary school. Dick devoted many years as a scout leader, a chauffeur to his children's countless activities, and later as a volunteer driver for fellow veterans. He also enjoyed a long career at Badger Wholesale Liquor before retirement, followed by part-time work delivering medical records—a job that satisfied his love of driving around Green Bay.
For the past 18 years, Dick lived independently at Brookview Meadows Senior Living Residence in Howard. There, he continued his tradition of service, acting as a floor representative, preparing the chapel for weekly Mass, and even stepping in to lead exercise classes when needed. He cherished poker nights with friends, reading, sports on TV, and cheering for his beloved Packers, Brewers, and grandchildren at their sporting events.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Avenue, Howard. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m. and a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Dick's love for children and family, memorials are preferred to the Green Bay Children's Museum.
