Obituary

Richard "Dick" Szcepanski, 86, passed away on April 30, 2026, at his residence in Little Suamico surrounded by loved ones.  Dick was born on April 22, 1940, and was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Szcepanski, Suamico, Wisconsin.  Dick was a graduate of Pulaski High School in 1958.  He married the former Diane Agamaite in 1961 and had three boys, Ronald, Randal, and Richard.  He later married the former Cheryl Koski in 1975 and had a daughter, Lisa.

Dick proudly served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard in the 32nd Infantry Division.  During his civilian career, he was a bricklayer for over forty years working for the Selmer Construction Company and many others.  He was the owner of Dick's U-Dig-It Nursery for over fifty years.  He loved blue birding, bow hunting, and ice fishing for perch and whitefish.  He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed teaching others his trades—he had many.

Dick is survived by his wife, Cheryl and children, Ron (Sue) Szcepanski of Oconto Falls, WI, Randy (Karen) Szcepanski of Suamico, WI, Rick (Rhonda) Szcepanski of Madison, AL, and Lisa (John) Fameree of Green Bay, WI, his grandchildren Miranda (Jake) Dahlke of Washington Island, WI, Andrea (Brandon) Vahey of Green Bay, WI, Joe (Leslie) Szcepanski of New London, WI, Hannah Szcepanski of Vestavia Hills, AL, and Madeline Szcepanski, Landon Black, and Logan Black all of Huntsville, AL, and his great grandchildren Myles and Wesley Vahey and Lukas and Kora Dahlke.  He was filled with joy on the birth of his first great granddaughter, Kora Leigh, on April 18, 2026, and was able to meet her on April 29, 2026, just a day before he passed. Dick is further survived by his sister Judy Smith, Pulaski, WI; brother and sister in laws, Dennis (Deanna) McKay, Candy Risberg, Cindy (Steve) Jurecic, and Karen Koski.

Dick was proceeded in death by his parents Joseph and Helen Szcepanski; brother, Dan Szcepanski; brother and sister in laws, Robert "Bobby" Koski, Steve Koski, Judy (Koski) Bjorklund, and Jim Risberg.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the entire staff at Unity Hospice, especially nurse Gail DeGraaff.

Visitation will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 6051 Noble Street, Sobieski, WI, Friday, May 08, from 9:00am to 11:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow.
