Robert J. Mayer, 68, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. He was born on Sept. 24, 1948 to Merlin and Ione Mayer. Bob married Rita Geurts and they have been together for 46 years. He loved spending time outdoors with family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and sons. Bob was full of conversation and was always there to listen and guide. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Rita; children, Jim (Kristin) Mayer and their children, John, Jacob and Jordan; Lisa (Tony) Van Lannen and their children, Sidney, Jackson and Celia; Matt (Dani) Mayer and their children, Taylor, Amber, Ashton and Logan; father, Merlin Mayer; sister, Sue (Larry) Zimonick; brother, Steve Mayer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ione Mayer; brother, Tom; grandson, Tommy.

Family and friends may call at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, East-Town location, 2379 East Mason St., on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 from 10 until 12:00 noon. Mass of Christian Burial 12:30 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, Green Bay with Father Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
