Obituary

Robert Lewis Ulve, 96, died on January 4th, 2017 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Bob, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was born smiling on July 15, 1920 to Olaf and Anna Ulve in Boscobel, Wisconsin. He was known for his sunny disposition, his love of nature, and his unmatched sense of humor. Bob spent his formative years in Boscobel growing up with his two brothers, Arthur and Lyle, and his sister, Loraine.

Upon his graduation from high school in 1938, Bob went to Business College. The war interrupted his career, prompting him to join the Army in 1940. He later transferred to the Air Force, where he trained overseas as a C4 for two years. When Bob returned to the States in 1945, he went into sales. Throughout his life he became a very successful sales representative for a variety of different companies.

Bob married Estelle "Pat" Brewer in 1948 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. They were happily married for over 50 years until her death in 1999. Later, he married Evelyn Hinson in Green Valley, Arizona in 2000, and they had 15 wonderful years together. Evelyn passed away in 2015.

Bob, with his many hobbies and vast array of good friends, lived his life to the fullest. Wherever he went, Bob brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. One of his favorite pastimes was golf. Bob had many golfing stories, but his favorite one to tell was about the highlight of his golfing career: a hole-in-one on a par 4! Bob also was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan, often sharing his season tickets so others could see his beloved team play. Most recently he was a participant in a WWII Honor Flight and was recognized by the American Legion for 70 years of membership.

Even though his family and friends are saddened by his passing, they all feel blessed and lucky to have had a person as special as Bob in their lives. Robert Ulve is survived by his nieces, Kay Quayle and her sons Jeffrey and Grant Wellington, Juli (Tom) Ferraro and her children Jodi and Jeff Ferraro and family, Jeri (David) Jacobs and her children Cari and Chad Jacobs, and the family of his late nephew, Edward Ulve, his wife Charlotte, and his children Kirsten, Sigrid, and Dr. Eric Ulve and their families.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 from 2 until 3:00 p.m. Memorial Service 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
