Robert J.
Welsing Jr.
Mar 18, 1961 — May 27, 2016
Robert J. Welsing Jr., 55, Suamico, passed away at a local hospital on Friday, May 27, 2016 following major heart surgery. He was born in Fort Leonard Wood, MO on March 18, 1961 to Robert and Lynn (Huxford) Welsing Sr. Robert graduated from Pulaski High School in 1979. He was employed at Van's Supply working on small engines. Often, Bob Van would send him to work on his yacht in Florida for tune ups, boat work, plus a good vacation.
From Van's, he went to work at Austin Straubel International Airport. Robert painted and tarred the runways, cut grass and in the winter he ran the loader with a 30 foot pusher around the airplanes. Robert had clearance in the security area to help protect the President of the United States. He also enjoyed working on heavy truck equipment, pouring concrete, burning trees and running hoes and dozers. He helped run R&R Snowplowing and Construction for 38 years. Robert was involved in designing the lay out, bidding jobs and doing skidder work. He also drove semi-dump trucks for Peters Concrete.
He was always there to help. Robert enjoyed being in his small shop working on chainsaws and sharpening chains. He had a passion for guns and ammunition. Bob and his friends always went on their yearly fishing trip. The steaks, cigars and beer were a special part of it. Now he will be on your shoulder watching who will get the trophy.
The Big Hunt was a moose hunt up to Church Hill, Canada then flew out to the Big Church Hill River and the small Church Hill River meet. A hunt of a lifetime 4 guys ups and 4 moose we came back with. We slept in a tent and camped like a king. Deer hunting, fishing and shooting the Big Bitch 50 caliber, the length of Peters Quarry. Thanks Jim!
