Robert H. Wright, 88, Village of Howard, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side after a short battle with cancer on Monday, January 16, 2017. He was born in Big Suamico on Oct. 1, 1928 to the late Harvey and Josephine (Orde) Wright. Robert graduated from Pulaski High School in 1946. While in high school, he fileted fish with his dad while all the men were at war. He enlisted in the Air Force as part of the Berlin airlift and was honorably discharged. Robert met the love of his life, Mary Magdalene Margaret Bouche and they were married on Oct. 28, 1950. They celebrated 60 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2014. Robert was employed in the office in management with the Green Bay & Western Railroad for 38 years. He raised his family in Ashwaubenon and then settled in Howard the past 28 years. Robert enjoyed swimming at UWGB, being involved with the Traffic Mens Club and the Moose Lodge and enjoyed gambling trips to Las Vegas with Roger and Shirley Mogan and trips with Bob and Grace Roberts. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Robert went on the Old Glory Honor Flight on October 15, 2016.
Survivors include his four daughters, Wendy L. (Ken) Smith; the late Pamela M. Andrews; Debra A. (Dan) Roberts; Brenda M. (Keith) Hannon; son-in-law, Steve Andrews; five grandchildren, Brent (Crystal) Roberts; Marya (Josh) Wakeman; Kendra (Andy) Katers; Maranda Andrews; Kristie Andrews and fiancé Eric; three great grandchildren, Liam and Nixon Roberts; Hudson Wakeman. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; daughter, Pamela; two sons-in-law, Arlo and Todd; brother, Melvin; sister, Audrey; his poodle, Minnie Pearl.
Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2561 Glendale Ave., Howard, on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 from 10:00 until 12:00 noon.
