Ronald "Ron" G. Farvour, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Ron was born on April 18, 1943 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He was the thirteenth child of Guy and Sarah Alice (Chase) Farvour. He graduated from Preble High School in 1961 and enlisted shortly after in the United States Navy. Ron proudly served his country until 1963. On October 17, 1964, he married the love of his life, Anne Mae Vande Hei in the town of Isaar. Ron worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1998. After retirement Ron and Anne moved to Crystal Falls, Michigan for 10 years eventually settling back in Green Bay. Ron always talked about his love of fishing and hunting. Ron and Anne enjoyed many years of camping and vacations with family and friends.
Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne; their children: Andrew (Kelly) Farvour, Terrie (Jim) Du Bois, Katherine Farvour, Bonnie (Steve) Van Lannen, Allen (Mary Lou) Farvour, Grandchildren: Jason (Thari) Farvour, Jessica Farvour, Hannah (Brian) Farvour, Miranda (fiancé Matt Boerschinger) Van Lannen, Denver (girlfriend Ashley Satterlee) Van Lannen, Zachery (fiancé Cierra Verbeten) Farvour, Alex (boyfriend Tyler Robinson) Farvour, Chris Van Lanen, Alicia (boyfriend Neil Hoppe)Van Lanen, Aaron (Nikki) Van Lanen, Alex (Jake) Vande Hei and Adam (girlfriend Allison Tilque) Du Bois. Great-grandchildren: Ainhu Nguyen, Chessney Farvour, Ellie Farvour, Dion Hudson Jr., Jaden Farvour, Gianna Farvour, Hayden and Karter Van Lanen, Chase, Ella and Austin Vande Hei. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank Unity Hospice, Brookview Meadows Assisted Living, and Green Bay Health Services for their care and compassion for Ron over the last year. These days we hear about the failures of assisted living care facilities, so we strongly want to stress our appreciation for these facilities/services because we feel they gave wonderful care to Ron and it was great peace of mind to us!
Services Friday, August 25th at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home in Howard from 4:00 - 7:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at Bonnie and Steve Van Lannen's home.
