Rosemary C.
Szymik
Sep 9, 1942 — Jul 6, 2021
Rosemary C. Szymik, 78, Hobart, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born September 9, 1942 to Marjorie Le Breck and Jay Simpson. Jay was a true war hero, and died for our country when Kitty was a few months old. Her mother married Vincent Kornusky Sr. when she was 4 and raised by them in Oconto and Marinette.
Kitty married Dan Szymik Sr. July 27, 1960 in Menominee, MI. Kitty and Dan moved to Green Bay to raise their 3 kids. Kitty had multiple careers which she was very proud of. She had many waitressing jobs, River's Bend was a favorite, worked at Diana, and her biggest accomplishment and passion as a beautician.
After the passing of Dan Sr. in 1997, Kitty began to travel including many cruises with family and friends. She also loved having her grandchildren around and spending time with them. She was very active in their lives, especially Ashley, Cody, and Brandon. Kitty enjoyed shopping, playing cards and board games, going to the casino; a love for Elvis, jewelry and dogs.
Kitty is survived by her three children, Dan (Connie) Szymik, Debra (George) LaRue, and Darren (Michelle) Szymik; grandchildren, Zach (Jenna) Szymik, Ashley (Matt) Zimdars, Cody (Katie) LaRue, Brandon LaRue, Sydney Szymik, Caleb Szymik; great grandchildren, Emersyn, Clayton, Jack, August, and Draxton. Her siblings, Steven (Mary) Kornusky, Vince (Louise) Kornusky, and brothers-in-law, Pat (Dorothy) Szymik and Jerry Szymik.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, husband Danny, and her in-laws.
Per Kitty's wishes, there will be no services. Family wishes to extend a special thank you to St. Mary's 5th floor nursing staff, as well as grandchildren Ashley and Cody. Without your love and support, Kitty would not have been able to stay home as long as she did. Online condolences are welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com .
