Obituary

Roy Leslie Sarson passed away April 22, 2022, at the age of 79. He battled serious medical issues for months yet remained positive and showed his courage in facing challenges and fighting until the end. He passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Luann, by his side.

Roy is survived by his wife Luann Dura; sons Adam Sarson and David Sarson, grandchildren Olivia Sarson, Ben Sarson, Marie Sarson and Kara Sarson; brother David Sarson; sisters Judy Loriso and Nancy Higgins.

Roy was a proud parent and great father. He loved coaching his sons, raising them to be good men. He was a great coach, but also had a little help with Adam and David being pretty good athletes on his team. Roy had a competitive nature, including never letting his sons win anything they played growing up, and even being the first one out of the church parking lot on a weekly basis. His playful personality never left him and showed in various ways throughout his lifetime. As a parent, Roy was always outside with his kids playing games. His house was the popular spot for the neighborhood kids to come and hangout. All the kids played games together and Roy was the ringleader. He was either all time pitcher for both teams, or quarterback for both teams. Roy also got the hose for water fights and all the kids would throw water balloons, or buckets of water against him and the hose.

Roy was born in Perry Sound, Ontario, Canada and raised in Uniontown, PA. He graduated from Uniontown High School and went on to West Virginia University to receive an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. He also received an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Roy had an accomplished career spending most of his career Mobay, known as Bayer. He had steps in New Martinsville, WV; Kansas City, MO; Dusseldorf, Germany; Boston, MA, and finally Marinette, WI. The career of Roy was quite accomplished with titles including plant engineer, purchasing manager, operations, and even president. He was a hard worker, accomplished, well liked as a co-worker, friend, and manager.

Roy was a motorcycle rider, jogger, pet lover, softball player, business owner, landlord, coach and boater. Most of all Roy was a kind, caring person and husband and father. He will be missed by all who knew him.
