Sharon Ann
Weycker
Apr 7, 1941 — May 8, 2023
Sharon Ann (DeValk) Weycker, 82, found her peace on May 8th, 2023, passing with family by her side and was welcomed home by her late son, Patrick. She was born on April 7th, 1941, in Kaukauna, WI, to the late Harry and Evelyn (Weyenberg) DeValk. She attended St. John the Baptist School and graduated from East High School in 1959. Sharon married the love of her life, Glenn G. Weycker, on June 13th, 1964, and they have celebrated 59 years of marriage together.
Sharon worked as a certified nursing assistant at St. Mary's Hospital and resigned in 1964 and became a stay at home mom. In 1969 , Glenn's job offered an opportunity to be transferred to Cheboygan MI. So he, Sharon and the kids packed up, and headed north. They became fast friends with so many wonderful people and still consider them family to this day. In 1973 they moved back to WI and bought a home in Flintville, on the outskirts of Green Bay. In 1974, Sharon worked at St. Johns the Baptist school as a kitchen assistant where both of her children attended. To her, this was the best of both worlds; employment and still being able to be with her children. In 1981 she and Glenn purchased a little country grocery store in Abrams WI; Weyckers Grocery, thus beginning a new adventure in their lives and building friendships that would last a lifetime. After the sale of their business, Sharon began working at various places; McDonald's, Starting Point Day Care, Howard, and Timberlea Drive Inn, Abrams.
Sharon truly enjoyed every aspect of the word "family", and being with her grandchildren is what she liked best; they were her world. Glenn and Sharon enjoyed traveling together; this included Alaska, Maine, Hawaii and Mexico, and to every duty station that their son-in-law and daughter served. She also loved making crafts, puzzles, going on car rides, baking, and everything Christmas. She was the most amazing mom, wife, grandma, aunt, and friend and will be missed by so many. Her gentle spirit will live on forever in our hearts.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Glenn Weycker; daughter, Brenda and Steven Magnin; grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Holly "Forest", and Sarah Magnin and Dean and his wife, Meghan, Drew, and Megan Weycker; great-grandchildren, Emery and Isla Weycker and Penelope and Bennett Weycker; bonus grandchildren, Jill, Jake, Charlotte, Macie, and Clark Rosenthal, Jesica Romero and Dakota Crawford; special extended family members; Luke, Coreen, Jacob, Grant, and Grace Lemorande, Jean (Leon) White, and The Crawford family; her special littles who called her Grandma Sharon, Ashlyn, Lyla, Merit, Emmalyn, Penelope, and Norah; her nieces and nephews who she LOVED dearly, cousins, brother-in-law, Robert Zingler, and aunt (in-law), Betty Sheedy.
She is preceded in death by her son, Patrick Weycker; parents; mother and father-in-law, Mildred (Sheedy) Weycker and Gordon Weycker; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Dean DeValk, Wayne (Judy) DeValk, Gary (Carol) DeValk; sisters and brothers-in-law, LaVonne (Richard) Rose, Connie Zingler, Linda (Mike) Wood, and infant sister, Joemaine; niece, Traci Wood; Thomas Magnin; and best friend and cousin, Nancy Kurowski.
Sharon's family would like to thank Unity Comfort Care who went above and beyond to help us whenever we reached out to them. And the entire Pfotenhauer family; and staff who helped us navigate through some very painful days, even when they were dealing with the loss of their beloved Harold (Pfotenhauer) who escorted Sharon through Heavens gates. They both went Home together. And to Sharon's nieces and nephews who stepped up and helped Brenda and Glenn is so many ways; thank you.
