Stephen (Steve) Arthur Eisfelder, beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away on January 12 at the age of 78.  Born in Peoria, Illinois on June 30, 1943 to George and Bernadine Eisfelder, Steve found his calling as a behavioral health psychologist, touching the lives of many during his 40+ year career.  Steve attended St. Bede Academy, St. Paul Seminary and Illinois State University where he earned his Master's Degree in Psychology.  After working in Illinois and North Dakota, he moved to Wisconsin to practice and later became the Director of Behavioral Health at the Menominee Tribal Clinic, from which he retired after 36 years.

Faith and love of family were Steve's guiding forces.  He was an active member of the Catholic Church throughout his life and enjoyed spirited theological discussions.  He was intensely proud and supportive of his family, coaching his children's sports teams, attending his grandchildren's activities and bringing everyone together for the holidays.  Together with Joann, his loving wife of 35 years, he enjoyed puzzles, gardening and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and UWGB women's basketball team.

Steve could be deeply compassionate and also resolutely cantankerous.  He did not suffer fools and was pretty sure he was always right.  He was smart and funny, often raising sarcasm to an art form.  Fiercely competitive, he loved nothing better than to outplay his family at golf, bowling, board games and cards.  Quite a feat, considering Steve taught them how to play and was always helping them improve.  Steve will be deeply missed on the sidelines, at the kitchen table and around the Christmas tree.

Steve is survived by his wife Joann; children Bartholomew (Pamela) Eisfelder, Nica (David) Syers, Jason (Nicholle) Eisfelder and Stephen (Bryn) Eisfelder; brother Anthony (Audrey) Eisfelder; sisters-in-law Cathy Eisfelder, Jeanette Waukechon, Margurite Revolinski, Rita Pecore and Alice Kessen; brothers-in-law Peter Waukechon Jr. and Donald Waukechon; grandchildren Noah Eisfelder, Emilia Syers, Margaret Eisfelder, Katherine Syers, Joshua Eisfelder, Andrew Eisfelder, Avery Eisfelder; and many nieces and nephews.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary (Melvin) Porter; brothers Michael and Thomas.

Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., (one quarter mile east of the corner of Cardinal Ln. and Glendale Ave. Entrance directly across from BP gas station on Glendale), on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. with Rev.
