Susan L. Wegner, 82, of Suamico, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 31, 2026, with her loving family by her side.

Susan was born on February 23, 1944, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, to James and Delores (Harvey). She graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the Class of 1962. Susan dedicated her life to caring for others, first as a nurse's aide for more than 20 years and later as a beloved school bus driver for the Howard-Suamico School District, where she safely transported generations of children over a 14-year career. Her kindness, warm smile, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Susan was truly a woman of many talents. She often joked that she was "gifted in many, master of none," but those who knew her would quickly disagree. She had an incredible gift for cooking, quilting, sewing, ceramics, and creating porcelain dolls. She owned two kilns and took great pride in pouring and firing her own ceramics and porcelain pieces. Whatever Susan set her mind to, she approached with creativity, patience, and joy.

One of Susan's greatest passions was her love for Scottish Terriers. Over the years she owned several beloved Scotties and became actively involved with the Wee Scots organization, attending annual conventions with friends who shared her enthusiasm. Her love of Scotties became known throughout the community when she and her husband Jim created an unforgettable Scottish Terrier-themed float for the Green Bay Holiday Parade. The float earned the prestigious Grand Marshal's Award for Best Float and featured an incredible procession of 72 Scotties and their owners who traveled from across the United States to participate.

Susan also cherished time spent boating and camping with her husband, Jim. Together they created countless memories with their family, especially during their treasured annual "Family Camp," where generations gathered to laugh, reconnect, and enjoy one another's company. Family was always at the center of Susan's life, and she found her greatest happiness bringing everyone together.

Susan's legacy is one of compassion, creativity, generosity, and unconditional love. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her family and friends will forever treasure the memories she created and the example she set through a life well lived.

She is survived by her husband, James Wegner; children Kim Christensen, Robert Panosh Jr., Karrlin Bain, and Son-in-law Rick Bain; stepchildren, Susan (Michael) Buckna, Sherrie (Matt) Klarkowski, Steven (Natalie) Wegner, Sandy (Craig) Shefchik, and Stuart (Julie) Wegner; grandchildren, Sylvia Christensen, Jordan Bain, Teddy Christensen, Meghan Bain; brothers, Peter (Dean) Harvey and John Harvey; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents James Sr. and Delores Harvey; her brothers James Jr. (Jan) Harvey, Richard (Carol) Harvey; sisters-in-law Jan Harvey, Joan Harvey, Barbara Jean Wegner; brother-in-law Lawrence Jr. (Lorraine) Wegner.

Family and friends invited to join Susan’s family on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, from 9:30am to 11:00am with a small service to follow.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Unity Hospice for the exceptional care, comfort, and support they provided to Susan and her family throughout her journey.
