Obituary

Thomas J. Breider, 70, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away at home on Friday, August 14, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born on Sept. 1, 1944 in Two Rivers to the late James and Florence (Rysticken) Breider. He lived his entire life in the Green Bay area and graduated from Premontre High School with the class of 1962. That fall he joined the United States Coast Guard for four years of active duty and two years of reserves. Tom spent one tour of duty in Vietnam. His final position in the Coast Guard was guiding freighters through the locks in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Radarman 3rd Class. Tom loved his country and was a very proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and always looked forward to marching in the Memorial Day parade in De Pere. Tom also served as a volunteer fireman for the Village of Howard for many years rising to the rank of Assistant Chief. On February 8, 1969, Tom married the former Linda Chaudoir in Kewaunee. They were married for 46 wonderful years. Tom worked for Fort Howard for 25 years and retired from there at 55. For the next ten years he drove a delivery truck for Herlache and T&A Industrial. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sons, Jody (Sue) Breider; Cory (Virginia) Breider; grandchildren, Libby, Sam, Jakob, Eli and Andrew. He was a very proud father and grandfather. He is further survived by a brother, Jack (Sue) Breider; sister, Jean Breider; sister-in-law, Kathy Breider. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Breider; father-in-law, Willard Chaudoir. Linda will sorely miss Tom; he was not just her husband but also her best friend. Per his wishes, there will be a Memorial Service from 4 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015 at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane. Prayer Service to follow. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Green Bay Oncology and to Unity Hospice for their care of Tom and their concern and compassion for his family and also to the many friends and family who came to show Tom their love in his final days.
