Thomas W. Caelwaerts, 84, Green Bay, passed away at home on Monday, March 25, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1940 to the late John and Margaret (Streckenbach) Caelwaerts. Tom graduated from Green Bay West in 1958. In 1961 he married his high school sweetheart, Loanne (Williquette) Caelwaerts, in Germany.
Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was an active 4th degree member and a previous Grand Knight and District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus Council 6279. He also served as a member of Howard Fire Department.
Tom worked at Fort Howard his entire career. After retirement he worked for Broadway Automotive. He loved to golf, play cards, bowl and go to the casinos. Tom enjoyed his weekly lunch dates with his friends and his breakfast and dinner dates with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. Tom was often seen helping his neighbors with snowplowing and cutting grass.
Tom is survived by his children, Terry and special friend Lisa; Brian (Kathy), Mark (Brenda), Steve (Julie), Andy (Julie); several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren. Tom is further survived by his brother, Jim (Elaine) Caelwaerts; sister, Mary Dickinson; sister-in-law, Joan Williquette; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Loanne; his parents; stepfather, Antone Uphill; parents-in-law, Roy and Eleanor (Eisch) Williquette; stepfather-in-law, Bernard Derozier; granddaughter, Jessica Blindauer; sisters, Virginia (John) Miller; Doris (Roger) Boockmeier; brothers-in-law, Dennis Dickinson, Dan Williquette; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jim) McCorison.
Family and friends may call at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, on Wednesday, April 3 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 4 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave (entrance directly across from the BP gas station), with a Mass of Christian Burial and military honors to immediately follow.
