Obituary

Vernon A. Sorenson, 76, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, February 5, 2018. He was born in Green Bay on April 26, 1941 to the late Walter and Elizabeth (Rother) Sorenson. Vern graduated from East High School.  He served in the U S Marine Corps Reserves and was honorably discharged. Vern married Mary Murphy on Feb. 11, 1978 in Crandon. He was an independent truck driver and later was employed by Paschke Drilling & Blasting, retiring in 2011. Vern enjoyed their cottage Up North in Crandon, playing cards and cutting acres of his grass. He was Past Grandmaster of Lodge No. 211 and member of the Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sorenson; children, Todd Engum, Chris (Tricia) Engum, Dana (Jesse) Specht, all of Green Bay; grandchildren, Alex (Ryan) Whitman, Kaiden and Kyler Engum, Murphi and Lyla Specht; brothers, Glen (Jean) Sorenson and Dale (Mary) Sorenson; sisters-in-law, Linda, Betty, and Shirley Murphy; his dog "Lovey".

Vern was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet Sorenson; brothers-in-law, Richard, Thomas, and James Murphy.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Military Honors to follow. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
