William "Bill" Ashton, 79, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 17, 2026.

Bill was born on June 8, 1947, in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1965 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1970. Following graduation, Bill built a successful career as a structural engineer and entrepreneur, eventually owning and operating his own engineering company. He took pride in his work and the engineering profession.

Outside of work, Bill was an avid collector of baseball cards, coins, and stamps. He was a lifelong and passionate Milwaukee Brewers fan who rarely, if ever, missed a game. Whether cheering on the Brewers, adding to one of his collections, or sharing stories with family, Bill found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Bill is survived by his three beloved children: daughter Kristi Stanton (John) and their children, Sam and Abbey; son Ken Ashton; son Rick Ashton (Sarah) and their children, Sloan and Brooks; and brother Robert Ashton (Susan). He treasured the time they spent together and held a special place in his heart for each of them.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Ardis Ashton; his sister, Nancy Anderson; and his parents, Dorlyn and Clay Ashton.

A private family service will be held to celebrate Bill's life.
