Obituary

William Edward "Bill" Wegner age 72 of Green Bay began his journey to Heaven on February 20, 2023.

He was born August 1, 1950 in Green Bay Wisconsin to Myrtle (Kuske) and Harold A. Wegner.

He was a 1969 graduate of East High School, a graduate from Northeast Wisconsin Technical college civil engineering course and the University of Madison with a major in civil engineering.

Bill began his career with employment with the Brown County Highway Commission as an engineer tech which he pursued for 2 ½ years and later accepted a position with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in June 1993 which he pursued till his retirement in May 2007.

Bill was a very active person. He was an avid cyclist, anxiously waiting for spring to arrive to begin cycling as he was a member of the Bay Shore Bicycle club.  He also enjoyed camping at Peninsula State Park, kayaking, cross country skiing, wine making, an occasional beer with friends, and was a diehard Packer fan.

He is survived by one brother, Harold "Bud" (Joy) Wegner of Tucson, Arizona, Two nephews, Scott (Tammy) Wegner of Green Bay,  Jeff (Amy) Wegner of Poway, California,  and a niece Michelle (Afshin) Wegner-Maleki of San Diego California. Bill is also survived by three grand-nieces and three grand-nephews as well as many friends in Green Bay.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard "Dick" (Darlene) Wegner.

He will be laid to rest at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
